James Smith
Group Product Manager, Google
James Smith is a Group Product Manager at Google who has been with the company for almost nine years. Throughout his time there he has worked on various product areas for Search, Android, and DeepMind. He is currently creating a new team in London to lead the strategy for new efforts in Google Search. James also worked at Google as a Software Engineer Intern back in 2012.
James attended the University of St Andrews, Scotland's first University and the third oldest university in the English-speaking world. There he earned both his Bachelor's And Doctor's in Computer Science. During his studies, he was awarded the Wardlaw Scholarship and the StACC Research Studentship in Cloud Computing.
According to those who have worked alongside James, he is a special talent who is great at coming up with innovative solutions to complex problems. He is extremely motivated when it comes to understanding the business context he is working in and stays fully engaged with it every step of the way.
